Only four lanes through the northern reaches of the Birmingham metro area creates congestion. The Trussville area also much a great deal of traffic to I-59. At least the concrete has held up well through northeastern Alabama.

The freeway gains in scenery as you travel northeast thanks to the Appalachian Mountains.
