A spur from Concord east to US 4, I-393 is a fairly modern road (built in the late 1970's and early 1980's), and serves its purpose of avoiding all the congestion on Loudon Road. The view westbound coming down from the Concord Heights under the East Main Street overpass is very impressive as the road descends to its terminus at US 3. The interchange at I-93 is 1960's style cloverleaf and could stand to be rebuilt at some point.
