SAFETY CONGESTION PAVEMENT CONDITION CLARITY OF SIGNING AESTHETICS

Except for some rush-hour congestion at the highway's two termini (at the I-287 / Hutchinson River Parkway interchange in White Plains and EXIT 9 / I-84 in Brewster), I-684 is a relatively safe, fast-moving road. The new 65 MPH speed limit certainly helps. Toward the end of the 1990's, the pavement had been showing signs of age after 30 to 35 years of use, but work now finishing up is addressing this issue.
I use this road when I go toward Albany and Montreal, and the northbound vista of rolling hills is a preview of what is to come on my journey upstate.
