Short but not very sweet, I-195 built in the 1950's, and in some areas it still shows with too many interchanges close together in some areas. As you travel east from Providence it does get better, but overall it still is nothing special. Construction at and approaching the I-95 western terminus in downtown Providence is dangerous, but hopefully the end will just justify the means.

It is only four and one-half miles long, but Rhode Island's contribution to I-195 is quite a mess right now, but promises to be a showcase before this decade is out. In the meantime, keep both hands on the wheel!
